Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art Founders to Speak at MAM

Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art: The Making of an Artist through April 15, at the Miller Art Museum is in collaboration with the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art, and explores the philosophy and process of art study in an atelier, or art studio setting. One large section of the exhibition is an actual student work station which re-creates the studio work space of an Academy student.

An exhibit related Museum Talk will be held on Thursday, March 13, 10:30am, featuring Dick and Norma Bell, Founders of the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art who will share the history and development of the Academy at the Barnsite Art Studio in Kewaunee WI.

The second talk will feature Artistic Director, Craig Blietz and Academy students who will share their Academy experiences on Thursday, April 10.

Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art: The Making of an Artist

On both mornings the Museum opens at 10:00am for coffee and an opportunity to view/re-view the exhibit. Both presentations will begin at 10:30am and held in the Friends Room in the basement of the Door County Library due to space limitations of the exhibition. Admission to the Museum talks is $5 for non-members.

The Miller Art Museum is located within the Door County Library at 107 S. 4th Ave., Sturgeon Bay WI. Museum hours are Monday 10-8, Tuesday-Saturday 10-5. Admission is free; the museum is fully accessible. This exhibit is sponsored by DC Printing, LLC, Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art, Martha Cherry Fund of the Door County Community Foundation, County of Door/City of Sturgeon Bay, Sustaining Members & Volunteers of the Miller Art Museum.
