Artist in Residence Program 2009/2010

The Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art, in conjunction with The Linden Centre, is providing an Artist in Residence ( “AIR”) program and Atelier to begin in January 2010 at the Linden Centre in Xizhou, China. The “AIR” program will accommodate up to four professional artists/instructors residing world-wide, for 2-6 months. The Atelier will welcome up to 6 artists to train with one of the professional artists/instructors for 2-6 months. Prospectus for students is also available.

Eligibility: Open to all professional artists/instructors residing world-wide
Application type: Portfolio review and biography via CD, and personal interview or telephone interview
Facilities: A 2,000 sq. ft. courtyard, general meeting rooms, ample storage space and unlimited plein air opportunities
Disciplines: Drawing, painting, photography (expanded list in future sessions)
Housing: Furnished apartment provided
Meals: Most all meals provided at the Centre
Computer/internet access: Provided at the Centre
Companions: Significant others encouraged, small surcharge for meals
Artist in Residence fees
Transportation is provided from Los Angeles to Kunming and to the Centre. An appropriate apartment will be provided within walking distance of the Centre and most all meals will be provided at the Centre. Significant others will provide their own transportation and pay a small charge for meals at the Centre.
The “AIR” will be responsible for providing 10 hours a week of instruction, critiques, demonstrations, working with, and assisting up to 6 students. A draft schedule proposed by professional artist/instructor is requested to be submitted and accepted by Academy Director.
The “AIR” is requested to donate two art works for permanent display at the Linden Centre and the Kewaunee Academy’s Barnsite Gallery, which may be used for promotion.
